Nabiac for Lunch

Today was WomBattle and my first official ride as HOG Road Captains.  Wom was up the front and I was chasing up the tail making sure we didn't lose anyone.  The plan was to meet up at Beresfield BP at 10:00am for a 10:30am start, then head to Nabiac via Gloucester.

I pulled up at the Beresfield BP at 10:00am a little surprised to see only a few other bikes given it was a cracker of a day to be out for a ride.  A few minutes later we were looking at a group of around 6 or 7 bikes.  Wom in his typical style pulled up at 10:20am which allowed us enough time for a quick riders briefing and we were on our way.

After a quick run up the highway we turned left onto the Buckets Way and rode along the all too familiar bumpy road into Gloucester.  It's funny, no matter how many times I've been up this stretch of bumpy road, I still never get board of the scenery.  Arriving at Gloucester we pulled into the Shell servo for those who needed to fill up before heading east to Nabiac.

Back on the Buckets Way we continued our journey towards Nabiac.  I especially love the first 10-20 kilometres of this road as it's nice and windy and in great condition.  Cruising into Krambach it never ceases to amaze me how there are still these little towns in the middle of nowhere that seem to be stuck in a time-warp — which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

On the other side of Krambach we swung a right onto Avalon Road which shortly continues into Wallanbah Road.  There's a lot of the same gorgeous scenery along here, especially this time of year when it's all green.

A few short kilometres later and a quick jump over the freeway, we had arrived at Nabiac pub safely.  The air-conditioning was a welcome treat as we walked inside given how hot it was starting to get.

Everyone enjoyed a cheap pub meal which was surprisingly good given the price.  I wouldn't hesitate to stop here again for lunch if the opportunity presented itself.

With the HOG formalities now over it was every man for himself on the way home, which is always fun...
