This was it, my final day and final leg home: Gold Coast to Newcastle. It was an easy run so I had a little sleep in and went out for breaky with the family. It was great. We all went for a walk around the beaches before I needed to head off. It was my best mate Johny's wife's surprise birthday party tonight and I... more

I was feeling great again this morning after another awesome sleep and I was excited to hit the coast again after being inland for so long. I got packed up about 7am and took off for Goondiwindi.

Man what a sleep! I was feeling awesome this morning. I think I'm finally starting to shake the negative thoughts and accept everything that's happened. This is good. And what's even better is another day chasing the horizon. I could seriously do this forever. Dave scoped out a nice bakery so we headed... more

It was a slightly slower start today. We kicked off about half 7 and went back to the pub for a quick photo before trying to find a petrol station that had unleaded fuel. Today was going to be the longest day at roughly 950km so it was up at 6am for coffee and on the road by 7. I would have liked to leave earlier but the group decision was 7am so that's what we stuck to. First leg was to Camooweal 260km away just over the QLD border.

It was a cool morning to kick off but the sky was pretty clear so I was hopeful of it shaping up to a sunny day. After checking out I headed for my bike where the other fellas were waiting. Originally I planned to head home on my own but since Dave and Slim offered to come along, I thought, why the hell not! Dom and Nick from the... more

Waking up to another perfect day in the Alice was awesome. The only issue is I packed for Alice to be hot as hell but in the last week the temperature has dropped from high 30's to high teens and low 20's! In any case, it was off for another bacon and egg breaky at Dave and Lisa's before the thunder run.

It felt a little surreal waking up in Alice Springs. Especially as right out of my window was the morning sun and a good view of the ranges. We arranged last night that breaky would be at Dave and Lisa's so I got up and headed over for a feed.

It was a very fresh morning in Coober Pedy, which I only realised once I walked outside of my underground motel room and immediately returned for a jacket! Suitably clothed I headed for the kitchen and grabbed some cereal. Eating breaky I was eagerly anticipating crossing the border into the Northern... more
